COVID-19 impacts are being felt all over even in the local church. Federal and State restrictions have required churches to make adjustments in order to protect the safety and health of the congregations. Connectivity and fellowship have suffered as church buildings were closed in order to comply.
Truth Teaching Ministries (TTM) launched two pilots to define how to best support churches during this difficult time which produced new, unexpected challenges. Needed were the means to accommodate remote worship, foster engagement, continue evangelizing, and accept donations. In conferring with the pastors and churches, it became apparent that some elements of the churches' infrastructure were suitable, and others were insufficient to meet the new needs.
Thus, TTM began defining a template approach to sort out the resource needs and help implement strategies to remedy the piloted churches' infrastructure challenges. This approach would support TTM in replicating the approach with other churches later.
These pilots have proven to be very informative and TTM has helped to provide the needed support for improvement. Benefits realized thus far, include a strategic response plan for church leadership, incorporation of online giving, improved pastoral/congregation connections. Both churches have experienced an increase in participation as people locally and in other states have connected into their remote worship and study activities.
The second series of Pilots are planned for Mid-June to target two new churches with their reopening and sustainability decisions.
