Pastor Dennis L. Marshall is the Assistant Pastor at Solid Rock Baptist Church in New Castle, Delaware. He serves on the African American Fellowship Executive Committee of the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure and Applied Science from Hampton University. Also, he earned a Master of Arts degree, majoring in Pastoral Ministry with high distinction from Trinity Theological Seminary. He is exploring his doctorate options. He is an approved teacher of "Leading Turnaround Churches" methodologies developed by Dr. Gene Wood, pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Glendora, California. He is a certified Prepare/Enrich Coach for improving couple relations. He received the Certificate in Expository Preaching from EK Bailey Preacher's Conference and completed Christian Education CEUs via the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.
His Christian walk began as a child and was renewed in college. But this commitment became more pronounced during his engineering career. He served in various capacities within the church including Assistant Pastor; Deacon; Christian Education Director; Men’s Ministry Leader; and more. In 1992, he was licensed to preach by the Saint Paul Baptist Church of The Woodlands, Texas. In 1994, he was ordained by a council of pastors in Texas.
In 2003, Pastor Marshall departed a highly successful, 24-year career as an engineering executive to pursue his true calling in life. This pursuit gave birth to Truth Teaching Ministries (TTM). This nonprofit ministry supports pastors in being victorious over the challenges faced in the role. Likewise, TTM developed and utilizes the 3-P’s concept to elevate the youth with their self-esteem and sense of purpose, thereby preparing them to become our future leaders. PASSION, PURSUIT, and PURPOSE are the core elements that form the 3-P’s program and curriculum. He has worked with both public and private schools, plus churches of multiple denominations, including Baptist, African Methodist Episcopal, African Union Methodist Protestant, and non-denomination churches.
In 2008, Pastor Marshall began serving as Senior Pastor of a dying church named Chippey African Union Methodist Church in Hockessin, Delaware. When he departed nine years later, church attendance had doubled, younger families had joined, and the spiritual maturity of the congregation was clearly evident.
He is the author of "Called To Be - Discovering Purpose" and numerous workbooks related to The Pastor's Challenge workshop series and the 3-P’s program.
Pastor Marshall has two incredible sons (David and Daniel) and an equally gifted daughter-in-law (Dominique). He is blessed with three incredible grandchildren (Gianna, Isaiah, and Elijah). He describes his children and grandchildren as his arrows per Psalms 127:4,5. He praises God for a full quiver. In short, Pastor Marshall loves helping others soar in Christ. His motto for living is, “Those who see the madness, are most responsible for creating the needed change.”
